1. Who we are
createpassword.in is an independent website that publishes free browser-based password and security utilities plus educational articles. It is maintained as a small project focused on practical privacy-aware tools—not as a venture-backed product with third-party security audits we have not commissioned. 2. How the tools process data
Different tools have different network behavior. We describe them accurately:
- Password / passphrase / bulk generators, strength checker, hash/encoder/UUID/API key/QR tools: computation runs in your browser. Generated or analyzed secrets are not uploaded to createpassword.in for storage or logging as part of those tool workflows.
- Password Breach Checker: your browser hashes the password with SHA-1 locally and sends only the first five hexadecimal characters of that hash to the Have I Been Pwned Pwned Passwords range API (
api.pwnedpasswords.com). The plaintext password and full hash are not sent. Matching of suffixes happens locally. createpassword.in does not store the password you enter for this check on our servers. - Comments (where enabled): if you post a comment, the fields you submit (such as name, email, comment text) are stored so moderation can work. Do not put passwords in comments.
- Contact: if you email or submit a contact message, we receive the details you provide in order to reply.
3. What we do not do
- We do not operate a cloud vault of passwords you generate.
- We do not intentionally send generated passwords to analytics vendors as event parameters.
- We do not sell lists of user-generated passwords.
4. Analytics, advertising, and affiliates
Like many free sites, createpassword.in may load analytics (for example Microsoft Clarity), advertising (Google AdSense), and affiliate tracking when you visit. Those third parties can set cookies or collect device/usage data under their own policies. They should not receive the contents of password fields from our generators by design of our tool code; still, browser extensions or injected scripts outside our control can alter page behavior.
Google AdSense: Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits. You may opt out of personalized advertising via Google Ads Settings or www.aboutads.info.
Affiliate links may use cookies so a partner can attribute a referral commission. Generated passwords are not shared with affiliate partners.
5. Cookies
Essential preferences (such as theme) may be stored locally in your browser. Advertising and analytics cookies are described in our Cookie Notice and consent UI where shown.
6. Legal bases and regional rights
Where GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA/CPRA apply, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal data we hold (for example support emails or comment records), and to object to certain processing or withdraw consent for non-essential cookies. Contact us to exercise rights. We do not claim that “zero knowledge” removes all legal obligations for every script on the site.
7. Security measures
The site is served over HTTPS. Tool logic is delivered as front-end code you can inspect in the browser. No website can eliminate all risk; use a trusted device and network for sensitive checks.
8. Data retention
Generator session values exist in page memory until you leave or clear the page. Breach-check prefixes are processed by HIBP under their systems. Support messages and moderated comments are retained as needed to operate those features.
9. Children
The site is not directed at children under 13 (or higher age where required). Do not submit personal information of children through our forms.
10. Changes
We may update this policy as tools or third-party integrations change. Continued use after updates constitutes notice of the revised policy when posted on this URL.
