What this tool does

Builds a multi-word passphrase from a word list using browser randomness. You choose word count, separator, and capitalization. Longer random word sequences are easier for humans to memorize than short symbol soup while still providing substantial entropy when words are truly random.

How it works & privacy

Words are selected client-side. The passphrase is not uploaded to createpassword.in. Prefer 4+ random words for important master secrets; add a site-required digit or symbol only when a policy forces it.

Security considerations

  • Do not invent phrases from song lyrics, quotes, or personal facts—attackers try those first.
  • Screen critical passphrases with the breach checker.
  • Use a password manager for most accounts; reserve memorized passphrases for device unlock or vault masters.
  • See NIST SP 800-63 for length-focused authenticator guidance.

Limitations

Entropy depends on word-list size and word count. Very short lists or only two words are weak. This is not Diceware with physical dice unless you supply your own process offline.

How to use it

  1. Set the word count slider (4 or more random words is a good baseline for important secrets).
  2. Pick a separator: hyphen, space, underscore, or dot. Some sites reject spaces, so choose based on the target.
  3. Toggle Capitalize Words if you want each word to start uppercase, then click refresh to draw a new passphrase.
  4. Copy the result into your password manager, or memorize it for a master credential.

Example

With four words, a hyphen separator, and capitalization off, you might get ocean-cloud-galaxy-comet. Bumping to six words roughly squares the search space an attacker must cover, while staying easier to picture than a 16-character symbol string. Avoid famous quotes or personal phrases — attackers test those first.
