What this tool does
This QR code generator turns any text or URL into a scannable two-dimensional barcode, rendered live in your browser and downloadable as PNG, JPEG, SVG, or a print-ready PDF. The code updates instantly as you type, and the entire process runs offline — no text is sent to a server. QR codes are a convenient way to bridge the physical and digital worlds: print one on a poster, a business card, or a Wi-Fi router label, and a phone camera can open the link without typing.
How to use it
- Type a URL or any text into the Enter Text or URL field. The QR code redraws automatically.
- Check that the code scans with your phone before you publish it.
- Pick a download format: PNG for general use, JPEG for photos, SVG for scalable vector graphics, or PDF for print.
Example
Entering https://createpassword.in produces a code that opens this site when scanned. You can also encode a Wi-Fi login string such as WIFI:T:WPA;S:MyNetwork;P:MyPassword;; so guests can join your network by scanning. Keep QR codes for sensitive data offline and only share them with people you trust — anyone who scans the code can read whatever is encoded inside.
Limitations
- QR codes have a fixed capacity. Very long strings produce dense codes that some phone cameras struggle to scan; use a URL shortener for lengthy links.
- The error-correction level is set high (level H), which helps with smudging but reduces data capacity.
- QR codes themselves carry no security. A printed code can be stickered over with a malicious one, so users should preview the URL their phone displays before tapping through.
